Frávega accelerates its technological development with RISE with SAP

The goal of the project was to ensure a seamless and efficient migration to SAP S/4HANA using the RISE methodology and the BLUEFIELD™ approach. Frávega wanted to establish a secure and scalable technological foundation to drive growth, optimize operations, and integrate new capabilities to keep one step ahead of the competition.

The challenge

Frávega was facing significant technological and strategic challenges concerning its commitment to innovation and operational excellence. The existing SAP ECC EHP7 installation, implemented in 2015, had to be modernized to support business growth, incorporate new features, and respond to increasing demand with greater agility and efficiency. At the same time, the company was managing several key projects in areas such as sales, logistics, finance and administration, aimed at modernizing systems and enhancing new business initiatives.

The strategic objective of the project was to ensure a smooth and efficient migration using RISE with SAP. This required a solid, secure, and scalable technological foundation to drive sustainable growth and meet highly demanding standards in security, performance, and financial auditing. The migration marked a crucial step towards optimizing operations, integrating new capabilities, and maintaining operational excellence as a market leader.

Project scope

The project consisted of migrating Frávega’s SAP ECC system and its functions to the cloud using RISE with SAP while implementing several key improvements, both specific to the company and to the administrative and accounting system. This included migrating the data history of the current and previous years. The transition involved moving away from an on-premises infrastructure and adopting a cloud solution, meeting current requirements for increased flexibility, scalability, and performance.

The main challenges were the complexity and scope of the strategic transformation project. To fulfill these specific requirements as effectively as possible, the company opted for the BLUEFIELD approach.

The integration also presented an opportunity to optimize processes while aligning the PI/PO environments. Documentation was improved, and technical and functional interfaces were consolidated to enhance the company’s technological foundation.

The internal team of SAP experts was highly committed to expanding their knowledge of RISE with SAP, complementing their previous expertise in maintaining and developing the existing system.

Additionally, priority was given to maintaining the stability of the PI/PO integrations, supporting other ongoing IT projects, and implementing third-party solutions—ensuring continuous operations without interruptions.

The existing infrastructure of both Frávega and SAP ECC became a solid foundation for updates and improvements, allowing for a more modern and efficient platform aligned with business and market requirements.

The benefits

  • Reliable and scalable infrastructure: Frávega now has a secure platform without performance issues that has room for further growth and complies with modern security standards.
  • The new infrastructure makes it possible to integrate processes even better, optimize functions, and carry out strategic projects more effectively.
  • The migration to the cloud ensures 99.5% availability in a reliable environment, eliminating previous issues such as system crashes.
