As part of the working group moderated by SAP, SNP supports migration projects with products and services that combine the characteristics of conventional new implementations with those of system conversions. This makes it possible to adapt business processes to new requirements while continuing to use historical data. The group aims to move customers to SAP S/4HANA both securely and flexibly by establishing common standards, methods and processes that were and continue to be co-developed with SAP. Effective standardization ensures the highest quality, minimum risk and shorter project durations.

The working group does not offer common new software for selective data migration, but strives to provide best practice solutions to companies around the world through regular knowledge exchange. Customers can still freely choose from the products and services of the various partners. With the SNP BLUEFIELD™ approach and the digital transformation platform CrystalBridge®, SNP offers a product and service portfolio that supports the selective data migration approach. The working group has been bringing together specialists from the fields of governance, project management, architecture, applications and technology on a regular basis since it was formed, and its results deliver enormous added value to customers.

Stefanie Kübler, Vice President Data Management and Landscape Transformation, SAP Digital Business Services, and SAP’s spokesperson for the working group, explained the following in 2019: “The working group ‘SAP S/4HANA Selective Data Transition Engagement’ complements our SAP S/4HANA Movement program with a valid third option if market requirements make a pure new implementation or system conversion impossible,” and: “Our customers can be sure that the working group members know the opportunities and risks of a selective approach, have expertise in this area, continuously improve their knowledge, and exchange project experiences.”

SNP has put together its own team of experts and is investing knowledge and experience built up over 25 years in the project, with the cooperation showing pleasing results so far: “The exchange of best practices with SAP at the highest level of knowledge is of immense benefit to us, but above all to customers who are about to migrate to SAP S/4HANA,” says Michael Eberhardt, CEO of SNP SE.
