Technical conversion to SAP S/4HANA RISE
Indumotora's objective was to perform a technical conversion of its current SAP ECC 6.0 EHP4 system to the new SAP S/4HANA suite that would allow it to maintain and preserve the functionalities. The purpose was to support the business processes of each of the company's areas, along with the implementation of the best practices incorporated in SAP S/4HANA RISE. Indumotora sought to modernize its system, enabling new functionalities and improvements that could be implemented in future projects. The company had the premise of preserving its ten years of investment in its ERP; but, at the same time, its interest was to migrate only the companies that today represent the operation of its active business. For Indumotora it was important to have clarity on the methodology and tools, especially in the continuity of integration with all satellite systems. In particular, they needed to be able to supervise all logistical processes to ensure the correct fluidity of the operation of the entire process chain, maintaining consistency and accurate availability of financial information. For this, SNP proposed a selective migration to SAP S/4 HANA RISE.
Our selective migration approach allowed them to make a selection of the data to be migrated; estimating the last 3 years of information along with the transfer of data, configurations and customizations.
SAP S/4HANA RISE: state-of-the-art technology platform
SNP proposed to carry out the project through its Selective Data Migration approach. This allowed the migration of the last three years of information loaded into the system, including logistical and/or financial accounting documents that may be open or pending. In addition, the histories of all vehicle warranties since SAP's inception in 2012 were migrated.Only the following group companies were migrated to the target system: KIA Chile, Indumotora ONE, Hyundai Vehículos Comerciales Chile, Empresas Indumotora, Grupo Inmobiliario Indumotora and Indumotora Corp. The transition to SAP S/4HANA RISE proposed a series of challenges that had to be addressed within the conversion project:
- Migration of the current business processes together with the customizations and associated developments made in the last decade.
- Adoption of new practices proposed by S/4 that benefited the operation of Empresas Indumotora, either complementing or replacing current processes that were solved through developments or extensions to standard functionality.
This resulted in the implementation of robust backup and recovery mechanisms to minimize the impact of any unforeseen problems during the project.
The fundamental idea was to accompany the company in its migration journey towards the new SAP ERP, providing it with a cutting-edge technological platform that would allow it to grow efficiently and face new challenges in a better way.

Thanks to SNP's support, professionalism and flexibility it was possible to implement the new RAISE TO SAP S4H version and selectively migrate only those data we needed. We set out to manage the project with a high level of certainty and above all, to guarantee the company operational continuity for when we went live with the new version and with our own automotive modules that we developed in parallel to this great project.
